The 1943 Oscars was a great night if you had anything to do with the movie, Mrs. Miniver; otherwise, you just ate your fill and knocked-it back while enjoying the bon mots of Bob Hope (1903 – 2003) who ended the evening with these words:
“Don’t forget to tip your waiters. You neve know who is on your draft board.”
