British writer Rebecca West
(born Regina Miriam Bloch: 1892 – 1983) became a fixture on the literary landscape just prior to the the outbreak of the First World War. Welcomed in some quarters as a young, thought-provoking writer with much to say on a number of matters, Rebecca West was, at the time of this printing, the mistress to H.G. Wells.
