Attached is a short notice from a 1944 issue of The Pathfinder that reported that there was a fashion among the American sea-going men of the enlisted variety to wear a particular style of earring in their left ear if they’d experienced combat. Can’t believe it? don’t take our word for it, read it.

Seeing that no known photographs exists of these nautical uniform accessories, we simply touched-up an existing photo of two fun-loving W.W. II American sailors.
