Attending the 1953 Titanic Reunion, former 1st class passenger Edith Russell remembered that horrible April night in 1912, when she turned to the White Star Line butler and asked:

“If the Titanic sinks, will they transfer the luggage?”

“Miss, if I were you, I’d go back to your room and kiss your lovely things goodbye.”
