Tony Randall

• Pageant Magazine, 1964 •

“Who is Tony Randall – this bundle of ‘tics’, self-confessed ‘neurosis’ and ‘hates’? First of all, of course, he’s an actor comedian, of course, of remarkable skills… Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to a well-to-do art dealer and a housewife and educated at Northwestern, which he jumped to join New York’s Neighborhood Playhouse – Randall is a brilliant, erudite conversationalist. He liberally salts the dialogue with words like ‘concatenation’ and ‘encapsulation'”.

Adams generously provided a numerous archive of the actors “hates” and Loves”:

“I hate Los Angeles. It’s a mass of sprawling mediocrity. And I hate the outdoors. It doesn’t suit us. Human beings neither grow pelts nor eat raw foods. Nature created us for indoors…[and] I hate baseball. It’s a boring game. Absolutely stupefying. I only go to prove I’m a good American.”
