[Followers of the Pentecostal Church] seldom live in the better neighborhoods, seldom hold the better jobs and are unlikely to be especially well-educated is happily verified by Pentecostal authorities. The general secretary of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Reverend J. Roswell Flower (1888 – 1970), explains, as Pentecostals explain all things, with a Bible quotation:

“In his first epistle to the Corinthians, Chapter One, verse 27, Paul wrote

‘…God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty…’“
