Remarkable for lacking those politically correct qualities we’re all so used to reading in the magazine columns of today, the attached article presents a biased, pro-Western vision of the Japanese Army, depicting it as an organized and highly disciplined peasant army:
“Some of the finest raw material in the world makes up Japan’s infantry…The soldier’s training is largely devoted to the perfection of his marching powers, and before his service is finished he will have learned to cover long distances at the ‘double’ oven when heavily weighted.”
Some attention is paid to the strict diet of the Japanese soldier.
