The americans hadn’t been in the war for very long when this article went to print; yet here they are – the names of some of your favorite atom smashers: Niels Bohr, Lise Meitner, Enrico Fermi and Ernest Lawrence. These are the names that would be printed all across the world in the late summer of 1945 – when the reading public craved to know something about the Atomic Bomb and this thing called “nuclear fission”.
