Some observant soul once remarked that in war, the winners write history and the losers write poetry - with that in mind we have posted the efforts of two Southern wordsmiths: Lanse Hendrix and Louise Webster. Steeped in Dixie lore and separated from the Civil War by 57 years, both poets dipped their
quills in ink and penned these Southern verses for the editors of Confederate Veteran Magazine.
