O. Henry

These days the name O. Henry (1862 - 1910) has a far stronger association with New York City than with North Carolina, (his birth place) or Texas, where he spent much of his youth; however when you come to read the attached letters, you will hear a very distinct Western voice that is far removed from the city that he wrote about so well.
