Judging from the six photographs on the right, Christian Dior in far off Paris continued call the tunes that American fashion designers had to dance to. The New York designers whose efforts were singled out for praise in this article were Lilly Daché, Hattie Carnegie, Ben Reig, Ceil Chapman and Vera Jacobs of Capri Originals.
