It was simply an act of unbridled gumption for the producers of Bwana Devil (Hollywood’s first 3-D film) to release their stinker-of-a-movie in 1953 – the same year Hollywood was celebrating its fiftieth birthday; but it was done just the same.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the brain trust down at Paramount dusted-off one of Hollywood’s founding fathers, Adolf Zukor, so they could wheel him before the cameras and get him to give the ol’ thumbs-up for 3-D technology as a whole.
