Improving the Schools

One of the educational benefits created by the Sputnik Crisis was the birth of the National Defense Education Act, a Federal funding program that intended to improve all American schools at a time when school districts were funded solely by their respective states. No mention is made in this article as to whether or not Laguna Beach High School took advantage of this opportunity.
