When this article appeared on the newsstands of North America Hitler had been in power for seven years and the Nazi school system was firmly in place and ripe for observation:

Giving students the National Socialist viewpoint on history, geography and sociology as though there were no other side is another part. Strongest part of the Nazi indoctrination program is the supplement to the schools, the Hitlerjugend—Hitler youth Organization. Nearly every German youngster between 10 and 21 belongs — eight million members."
"Today shadows have fallen upon the once-proud German universities. The professors have been forced out of the temples of learning or driven into exile or subjected to a subtle pressure which has changed their academic detachment into clumsy conformity with Hitler's ideals."
